Frequently Asked Questions
Can I take pictures or video the flight?
Absolutely! Sometimes a Helicopter Experience is a “Once in a lifetime opportunity” and we want you to remember it forever. Bring along your camera or video camera and you may even get your picture taken with the Pilot. There will also be an opportunity to get your picture taken with our Helicopter/s either before or after your flight.
Is there a certain type of clothing I need to wear to go in a Helicopter?
It really depends on the type of Helicopter Experience you are going on. For instance, if you are going on one of our Helicopter Adventure Experiences like Heli-fishing or the 4 Track Adventure Experience it is recommended that you wear suitable footwear and clothing for the season, such as waterproof pants and a jacket for winter, or shorts, T-shirt, hat and sunscreen in the summer. For all other flights, we advise that high heels can be somewhat awkward when getting in and out of the Helicopter. Although there is a step on the skid of the aircraft to assist. As the Helicopter can create a downdraft when running, hats and wispy clothing may be difficult to control and become dangerous.
Are Helicopters only for the “Rich & Famous”?
Certainly not! We have a range of Helicopter Experiences for all budgets. Talk to us about your requirements or special occasion. We are specialists in our field and are here to make your Helicopter Experience one to remember.
Is Helilink based at the Heli-port with the Police Helicopter & the Westpac Rescue Helicopter?

Helilink have a close working relationship with Mikano Restaurant & Bar, which is known as one of Auckland’s top Restaurants, located above Helilink’s offices at our Mechanics Bay Base.
